6/10/09- TWD’s Agenda For The Day: All Of This In Albany, Because Of Raising Taxes. Damn Taxes

Photo from Nate Brooks of the NY Times

A Rochester billionaire set this all up, because of his taxes raising. Unbelievable
Mr. Golisano, a billionaire business executive, had spent heavily to help Mr. Smith and other Democrats win control of the Senate in the November election, and was angry to hear they were now planning to raise taxes on the wealthy. He expected an audience befitting a major financial patron.
And because he ddidn’t expect this, he orchestrated another ignominious chapter in the history of a corrupt legislature. Maybe the most ignominious.

It is so ironic, comical, and sad that what Golisano said here is really true:
“Don’t talk to me about ethical background in Albany.”
And said that before proceeding to talk about Patterson’s private life.

Only in Albany.

Officer Killed In Yesterday’s Holocaust Museum Shooting Remembered As A “Gentle Giant”

Via TPM, the Washington Post writers Christian Davenport and Paul Duggan give a fitting sendoff on slain officer Stephen Tyrone Johns.

Colleagues called Stephen T. Johns “Big John,” for he was well over 6 feet tall. But mostly friends recalled the security guard’s constant courtesy and friendliness.

“A soft-spoken, gentle giant,” said Milton Talley, a former employee of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, where Johns was killed yesterday in the line of duty — shot, authorities said, by an avowed white supremacist who entered the museum with a rifle.

2/4/09- TWD’s Agenda For The Day: Will The Stimulus Bill Pass In The Senate?

At the moment, nope. Because the SOP (Sad Obnoxious Party) doesn’t give a darn about recovery unless it has those precious, under stimulating tax breaks! Heck, even this forgotten man is leading in their assault on helping their country in its dire of times:
Over recent weeks, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has emerged as a vocal critic of President Obama’s recovery package, claiming it is too big and filled with “pork.” McCain now says he will not vote for the bill in its current form in part because the legislation, in his view, does not sufficiently reduce business taxes:

McCAIN: We should have cuts for business and business taxes and small business taxes should be cut.
He still believes he’s campaigning, I swear he does.

Republicans have been all over the airwaves in their mission to kill this bill. And they seem to have made some headway in delivering their dishonesty, half-truths, and disinformation about the bill. And it has led to the usual idiots on television on their side doing the same thing.

So much for actually giving a darn about the country. Especially the one who lost decisively on election day?

It’s Official: Roger Simon Is The Dumbest Pundit In Washington D.C.

Conservatives are meant to say some crazy things, but you’ll expect a neutral columnist like Roger Simon wouldn’t.

But after that MySpace quality dreck that he wrote two weeks ago and the last week’s “What the hell were you watching” hit piece on Obama’s Cairo speech (I’m not even going to bother linking it, Simon officially stamps his title as the dumbest pundit in Washington D.C. with this title off his latest masterpiece:

If there was a bachelor’s degree from stupidity, Simon would go well beyond even a magna cum laude. And even more appalling to the eyes is seeing the picture he uses for clinching column for his award:

And with that photo, he brings this up
But you can see why Democrats are nervous. Roland Burris, a political hack, muscled his way into the U.S. Senate by nakedly playing the race card, and now everybody is jumpy about any comments that seem to indicate one race should be favored over another. (Unless it is white people being favored, in which case there is rarely a controversy.)
Oh my goodness, oh my goodness, the Burris connection. Simon sees a connection, and you have to see it because they ARE BOTH MINORITIES.

Roger Simon truly has earned this award, and that is saying something in this political landscape. The dumbest pundit in Washington is surly Hackio’s main hack.

Music Thread #1 for 1/29/09: The Return of TWD’s Music Thread, Including The Return of Jennifer Hudson

(Photo from RCA) The return of Jennifer Hudson is something that most will cherish
The music thread is back. After a long hiatus, a needed break from politics is needed (for the moment). Because would this site still be The Whole Delivery is it didn’t have its music fix. It sure as hell wouldn’t.

And what a way to return indeed, with Violetta Wallace sick and tired of Lil Kim’s mouth in regards to her continued verbal assault on the movie “Notorious.”
Wallace said that before the movie was made, Kim was given a copy of the script and signed off on the use of her likeness in the film.

“She felt the character we chose for her was ‘too dark,’ ” Wallace said. “Do you know why the character was too dark for her? Because she’s a white woman trapped in a black woman’s body, and you can tell the world I said it, because those are Lil’ Kim’s words. She should be ashamed of herself.”
And she wasn’t done:
“Tell Lil’ Kim to go find herself, go drink a cup of green tea and get a life!” Wallace went on. “This movie is not about Lil’ Kim. She felt we used her character to promote [but] this movie is about my son. … Lil’ Kim needs to go sit down.”
Expect the verbal smacks between these two to continue.

Great news indeed about Jennifer Hudson. She looks to be back:
Jennifer Hudson’s label has released photos from her forthcoming video for the single “If It Isn’t Love,” from her recent self-titled LP. The clip is set to premiere the week of February 9.
As always, The Whole Delivery (and every sane person) is cheering for her. Especially when she reappears in public for the Super Bowl. It will certainly be an emotional setting.

It’s getting worse and worse with this guy with every passing day. If you are a praying person, keep him in your hearts for sure.

Another Diddy group goes by the waste. And what, you were surprised?
After Dawn Richard broke the news to us on Wednesday that as of now, Danity Kane are no longer a group, fans hit up MTVNews.com expressing all sorts of outrage and sadness over the breakup.
People are so gullible. When will they learn that these shows are all about Diddy than the whole group, leading to the eventual collapse. It happen with “Da Band”, it’s happening now, and it will happen with Dey 26. And yet, we will have more “outrage and sadness.”

This is funny
Things got better a few minutes later, as Obama was giving warm hugs to B, Blige and Latifah. Michelle Obama walked up and said, “Mr. President, you didn’t tell Beyoncé about ‘Single Ladies’? Your rendition?”

The Commander in Cool laughed and said, “I’m not like Justin [Timberlake]; I didn’t put on the outfit,” referring to JT’s now-infamous “Single Ladies” turn in a leotard on “Saturday Night Live.” “[But] I didn’t want my girls thinking that I couldn’t, you know … I got a little something.”

Doing a subtle version of the Beyoncé’s hand gesture, the president joked, “this part I got.” He then went on to hug Legend, telling him, “John, how’s it going? … You’ve been so great throughout the campaign. … I appreciate it.”
I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, “But thank you Young Jeezy.”

Peace.
